A great, futuristic and rare Japanese Design Exhibition poster!

This poster was created for international fair in Osaka, Japan to display the latest designs from around the world. The event was held in Osaka Business Park (OBP) - a huge skyscraper business district in the from the 1980s - which also contains over 60 restaurants, theaters, concert halls and shops. Seems like the ideal place for such an event.

The exhibition was subsidized by the Keirin Race (Keirin: "racing wheels") which is a form of motor-paced cycle racing developed in Japan around 1948 for gambling purposes. In the race the cyclists sprint for victory following on a track with a speed-controlled start behind a motorized or non-motorized pacer.

The poster displays a para shooter falling from the high acid-colored sky is the image chosen for this advertisement. It seems like the para shooter is falling from one (red) heaven to the another (yellow) heaven possibly signaling that the design is moving forward into the next world. I have no idea what the meaning of the two identical pink and purple clouds is - or is it holes of some kind?

Overall a great Japanese vintage poster with a beautiful and stylish futuristic choice of colors and a slightly exotic para shooter which is adding to the sense of design innovation.
