A brilliant little Danish design poster featuring the infamous ant chair by Arne Jacobsen.

The poster was made to promote an exhibition on Arne Jacobsen design at Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris in 1978.

The chair was designed by Danish designer and architect Arne Jacobsen (1902-71). Jacobsen is also well-known for the design of "the Swan" and "the Egg" which can be found all around the world today.

The "Ant" is a three-legged chair designed by Arne Jacobsen and was designed as Novo (now Novo Nordisk) needed a chair for her canteen which could be stacked, and that was easy to move around.

The chair is made of molded plywood with stainless steel legs. Originally it was not intended that it should be marketed to individuals and the producer of the chair (Fritz Hansen Furniture), thought that there was "too little furniture" in it. On the effectiveness of production Jacobsen said:

"Before it took at least at least a day to make a chair, this one can be made in ten minutes".

The chair was designed with only three legs, but after Jacobsen's death, Novo's security department choose a model of the "Ant" with four legs to prevent tipping accidents.

Despite the fact that the chair was designed in 1952 is still in production today and popular worldwide because of its aesthetic and functional values.
