You are looking at a 100th anniversary poster for IFPI Denmark made by Bjørn Wiinblad.
IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) is an international organization for music companies. Founded in 1933.
The association's Danish branch called IFPI Denmark and music companies' trade association. Member circuit is composed of music companies that contribute to the production and distribution of music in Denmark. The turnover of the members represent more than 95% of total revenue from sales of albums in Denmark (incl. Greenland and the Faroe Islands).
Some of the stuff IFPI Denmark like to do is exploring new opportunities for the commercialization of music and to address the music companies' rights and ensure members payment arrangements for the use of their work. And to celebrate 100 years of recorded sound in Denmark (1877-1977) they had the art master Bjørn Wiinblad creating the artwork for the recorded sound's birthday.
The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line. This artwork is differently true to his special line.
The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special.
Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
