This beautiful travel poster encouraging people to vistit the Spanish city of Cáceres.
The city of Cáceres province is located in Extremadura, near the Portuguese border and has a population of around 100.000 inhabitants. Cáceres is well-known for its fortifications which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The poster displays two young woman dressed up in traditional outfit - possibly because of an upcoming festival. Back in the 1940s it was still common to see woman dressing like this in the fields and "the gorra" (the hat) would protect from the sun. However, today the costume is only used for festivities as The May Fair and The Festival of San Fernando.
