A very cozy setting with a tree full of life endangered by modernization!

The poster depicts a large green tree three full of children, nymphs, birds, animals and even the solider from The Tinderbox (the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, remember?). In the bottom is a smoking bulldozer trying to knock down the tree.

The poster was commissioned by Danish Society for Nature Conservation Danish Society (Danmarks Naturfredningsforening). Founded 1911, it is an incorporated non-governmental organization based in Denmark. It works for environmental protection and biodiversity, improved environmental legislation, consideration for the natural environment in public planning, and public access to natural resources.

This richly detailed and colorful poster was designed by the Danish artist and writer Ib Spang Olsen (1921-2012). Olsen's works often takes the beholder into a magical room and illustrates the mysteries and adventures one can experience inside his universe.

Overall a cute and happy poster with an important message which would display well wherever kids are around.
