1960s Tivoli Gardens by Gunvor Ask - Original Vintage Poster

A slightly kitsch Tivoli poster staging the most important buildings, scenes and figures from the famous amusement park in Copenhagen.

The poster displays a huge peacock whose wings creates the stage curtain at old the Pantomime Theatre. Actually many things are on display here so I will narrow it down to a minimum. In the background is the main entrance of Tivoli from 1890, the balloon swings from 1943 along with visitors in all ages and different characters representing the gardens.

This Tivoli poster is made by the Danish artist Gunvor Ask who is famous for her illustrations in children's books using paper cutting (not "paper cuts") and it is clear that Gunvor used the same technique when she was making this Tivoli poster.

Note: this is one of the rarer Tivoli Gardens posters.
