A marvel of a WWII era campaign poster to encourage children and youngsters to join the American Junior Red Cross in 1945. The poster displays a group of children of all ages and nationalities overlooking our world with some conceived and serious faces.

Formed during World War I the members of the American Junior Red Cross knit scarves, rolled bandages and built furniture for hospitals and convalescent homes for the war effort. The kids also worked in vegetables gardens that added food and raised funds during the war.

By the end of World War II the membership grew to almost 20 million members World War II. Activities ranged from the production of clothing, toys, furniture and art works to entertainment and recreational programs at military camps and hospitals.

The artwork for the poster was made by Amos Sewell (1901-1983)- a former tennis player and banker - that during his career painted many well known portraits of daily life in America and around the world.

This poster would look great on any wall and its rarity will make fit for any serious WWII collector or just the right person with a very fine taste in decors.
